Framework Program 7 - Harmonised European Land Monitoring / GMES Network of Users

European Commission - Framework Program 7 - Harmonised European Land Monitoring (HELM) / GMES Network of Users (GNU)

The FP7 project GNU and HELM were two user driven projects which provided feedback and input from the user side to the GMES / Copernicus programme. The GNU project was the first one to provide unfiltered user statements about GMES to the European Commission while the HELM project focussed more on taking stock of land monitoring activities at national level and starting a discussion on how to increase synergies between national and European mapping initiative (i.e. bottom-up approach).

Knowing both sides, the service provider side and the end user side, space4environment was able to act as the interface between both communities and to moderate the discussion between the two.
