FAIRiCUBE progress meeting in Bremen

space4environment met with partners in Bremen for the first large progress meeting of the Horizon Europe FAIRiCUBE in April

On 19th and 20th of April, space4environment met with partners in Bremen for the first large progress meeting of the Horizon Europe FAIRiCUBE. The core objective of FAIRiCUBE is to enable players from beyond classic Earth Observation (EO) domains to provide, access, process, and share gridded data and algorithms in a FAIR and TRUSTable manner and leverage the power of Machine Learning (ML) operating on multi-thematic datacubes for a broader range of governance and research institutions from diverse fields, who at present cannot easily access and utilize these potent resources.

Over the two days, the focus was put on team building and the presentation of experiences from two use cases, one of which being the use case on urban adaptation to climate change led by space4environment. These experiences include the implementation of a data ingestion routine, i.e., loading data into a dedicated AWS S3 bucket, and setting up a data cube in the selected architectural environment EOxHub, including EuroDataCube and SentinelHub.
